What to expect during the first few office visits:

  • Meet with the Doctor
  • Full evaluation including addiction risk assessment and level of care determination (e.g. outpatient, inpatient detox, inpatient rehab, or IOP)
  • Drug and Alcohol Screening
  • In-depth Biopsychosocial profile
  • Onsite EKG to assess heart health
  • Vital signs including Temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and weight
  • STD Screening
  • Urine Drug Screening
  • Initial blood tests screening to assess internal and metabolic health status (liver, kidney, thyroid, sugars, cholesterol, electrolytes, blood counts, vitamin levels)

The first visit will be to meet and assess if the patient would be a candidate for our outpatient program. There are certain instances we recommend that the patient complete an inpatient detoxification or inpatient rehabilitation program first before engaging in our program.  For example, quitting alcohol abruptly can lead to delirium tremors which can be deadly – so an inpatient detoxification first would be recommended which would then be followed up with our outpatient program.

If the patient is a candidate for our program, we will custom tailor an addiction treatment plan and setup appropriate medical and psychiatric referrals.  If necessary, medication will be prescribed at the initial visit.
